Drukpath Trek (Luxury)

DAY 1. Arrival at Paro (L/D).
On arrival at the Paro Airport, you will be received by the representative of THE WAY TO BHUTAN. Rest of the day for the leisure and acclimatisation. Overnight in Hotel Paro.

DAY 2. Paro Takshang (EASY and at LEISURE for ACCLIMATISATION) (B/L/D)
After breakfast, drive to the trail head, and begin the trek to Taktsang Monastery. Drive to north of Paro town for about ½ hr and embark on a trek to the famed Taktsang (Tigers Nest) monastery. Taktsang monastery is located on the face of a 1,000m seemingly impossible sheer, vertical cliff, above Paro valley.The trail begins near the Satsam (2650m) and climbs steeply uphill to the Cafeteria (2,940m), an area of exposed ridge with panoramic view of Takstang.

DAY 3. Paro Jele Dzong (Trek Start) (B/L/D)
Distance: 10km. Trek Time : 4-5 hours. Altitude of camp : 3450m-approx
This is a short trekking day and the trail is uphill through a village and conifer forests. You can find small fortress standing on hill top.The view of the Paro Valley from the camp is absolutely breathtaking.

DAY 4.    Jele dzong - Jangchulakha (B/L/D).
Distance : 11 km. Trek Time : 5-6 Hours. Altitude of camp : 3780m-approx.
Gradual climbs and a few steep climbs take you through thick alpine forests and rhododendron bushes. You will see yaks and yak herders around the camp today.

DAY 5.Jangchulakha - Jimilangtsho (B/L/D)
Distance : 12km. Trek Time : 5-6 hours. Altitude of camp : 3880m-approx.
The trail follows the ridge and on a clear day one will be surrounded by beautiful mountains and river valleys. The camp site is near the Lake Jimilangtsho known for their giant sized trouts.

DAY 6.Jimilangtsho - Simkota (B/L/D)
Distance : 14km. Trek Time : 5 - 6 Hours. Altitude of camp : 3900m-approx.
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron bushes and the Lake. You will be able to observe the nomadic life of the yak herders on the way today.  The camp is beside the Simkota lake.



DAY 7.Simkota - Phajoding (B/L/D).
Distance : 11km. Trek Time : 4-5  Hours. Altitude of camp : 2600m-approx.
The trek begins with a gradual climb. You may have spectacular view of Mt. Gangkar Phuensum, the highest mountain in the country.

DAY 8. Phajoding - Thimphu -Paro (B/L/D)
Distance 8km. Trek time 3-4 hours. The trail leads downhill till your meeting with the transportation bus which will take you to town for lunch. Later after lunch drive to Paro. Overnight in Hotel.

DAY 9. Paro-Departure (B)
Transfer to the Airport for your departure. Your guide will bid you goodbye.

Summery The most scenic and popular treks in Bhutan. Its moderately strenuous but it goes to high altitude. Its a short trek but it takes trekkers through wilderness trails, conifer forest , past several remote lakes.
